All the other cool kids are reccing!

I haven't read as much as I'd like to, but what I've read has been fantastic.

Betsy-Tacy Series by Maud Hart Lovelace

A selection of letters found in the estate of Mrs. Bettina Anastacia Willard Kirchner upon her death.

This was my Yuletide gift and I love it so much I want to hug it close to me forever. Letters from Betsy and Joe to each other while Joe is fighting in World War I.

Big Bang Theory

The Cheap Trick Acceleration

If you read one BBT Yuletide fic, read this one. To steal the words of another reader: road trip, time travel, the fate of the universe.

The Movie Night Expansion
Leonard/Penny/Sheldon and it actually makes sense and is in character. And it's really hot, too.

The Peacock Paradox
Penny's a superhero. AND she says the world "binary." Need I ask for more?

The Plus-One Scale-Mail Pasty Postulate
If Howard/Raj ever becomes canon, I want it to happen just like this. Hilarious and weirdly hot.

Flight of the Conchords

For the Sake of a Motorized Scooter
I would pay SO MUCH MONEY for this to be an episode (if they were making new ones, which they're totally not--SAD). And, yeah, I definitely ship Jemaine and Bret now.

Gone With the Wind

In Fashion

Scarlett O'Hara's life through her clothes.

Lost in Translation

Post Parting
This story is utterly in keeping with the lovely but elegiac spirit of the movie.

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

Sisters of Bilhah
You must read this. NOW. I'll be here, waiting. This story takes the world of the novel and expands it with the POV of a young woman in England, working with female refugees from Gilead. It's so good I don't have words, really.

*g* I'm not doing a rec post until after reveals. Somehow it doesn't seem right since I'm taking part.

But if you don't rec yourself, what's the harm? (Actually, I like reccing before reveals because I can be assured that there's no friend bias in my recs.)

NOTE TO EVERYONE: I HAVE NOT RECCED MYSELF IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM! ;)

But that's the thing. I'm one of only two people to have written my preferred pairing in one particular fandom, so if I rec the other one before reveals, anyone who knows my pairing leanings for said fandom will know which fic is mine. *g* I've bookmarked a few to rec later, though, and I beta-read seven different Madness fics.

Ah, that's an excellent point. There were 19 stories in the fandom I wrote, so I figure I'm pretty safe. ;)

Same!

Except that there are not many other stories in the fandoms I did and I'm totally paranoid that if I even mention them, someone will work out what I did. IDKY this is so terrifying a prospect, but there you go.

(AND OMG ISN'T THAT CONCHORDS FIC AMAZING)

Who knew people wrote Gone With the Wind fic? It never occurred to me. That story was quite enjoyable. Now I want to read a really good depiction of the Rhett/Scarlett bedroom scene.

My husband got the 75th anniversary Blu-ray edition of GWTW for Christmas. We don't have a Blu-ray player yet. I need to fix this as I'm now really in the mood to watch this movie again.

Whoa, that Handmaid's Tale story was truly stunning. Just.... wow.

And ooooo, LIT fic! I mustmust read this one soon! The first time I saw that film, I was blindsided by my emotional response to the end. One minute I was fine; the very next second, I had tears pouring down my face. Man oh man, it was a gorgeous moment...
